Dr. Aaron Costin of the University of Florida, M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management was awarded a $455k grant National Science Foundation (NSF) to support the research of the development a state-of-the-art Intelligent Jobsite using the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and other recent innovations.  The team is developing IoT-ACRES (IoT-Applied Construction Research and Education Services) system that is a central, interoperable hub that can incorporate a variety of heterogeneous sensors, technology, software, and AI to provide services for research and applications in the construction industry.

In addition to Dr. Costin, the team consists of Dr. Idris Jealani, from Rinker, and Drs. Janise McNair and Sanjeev Koppal from the College of Electrical and Computing Engineering. Industry collaborators include Jobsite TechGroup, SYNNEX, InfoTech Inc, PCL Construction, Whiting Turner Construction, Total Safety Consultants, Smartvid.io, and others
