Alireza Adibfar joined the SCI LAB Spring 2017, and he has been investigating novel approaches in information modeling for integration and enhancement of methods used for life cycle management of infrastructure and bridges. He selected his topic to be focused on bridges as bridges are recognized to be the nodes of the ground transportation network, and their health and reliability are so vital to the economy and growth of countries. Alireza’s dissertation is focused on the development of standards for communication of software and the exchange of various data through IFC and other data exchange platforms.

In addition to his academic endeavor, he had strong participation in professional student groups such as Gator Safety Professionals, in which he served as the president from 2017 to 2020 and led a team of students to host presentations by construction safety professionals to educate students. He also served as the vice-president of Sigma Lambda Chi (SLX) which is a national honor society for construction management students. Due to his high academic achievements and salient leadership practices, he was selected to be inducted to the Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL) in Spring 2019, which is an honor society for the top 1% of UF graduate students.

He has a good knowledge in AEC software such as Revit, Navisworks, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and scripts in different programming platforms such as Visual Studio C#, JAVASCRIPT, HTML, Python, R, etc.
