The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) awarded Lee-Su Huang, Mark McGlothlin, Kristin Nelson and Lisa Huang (not pictured), from the UF School of Architecture, with the honorable Service Member Patriot Award.
The four faculty members were nominated by Ken Cobb, an architecture student that was deployed last spring. Faculty members worked with Ken to see that he finished his spring term courses and would be ready to return to campus once his deployment was completed.
The ESGR is a Department of Defense program that promotes cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. Patriot Awards are awarded to individuals who reflect the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures, including flexible schedules, time-off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.
