DCP IT Workspace Support

DCP provides the information technology support for the College of Design, Construction, and Planning. These services include, but are not limited to:

  • New employee setup and exiting employee decommissioning for IT related services.
    • New employee shared resource access (file share access, email group access, printer access, program access, etc..)
    • Surplus or storage of exiting employee equipment.
    • Documenting and removing exiting employee access.
  • Security and updates for DCP IT managed devices:
    • Maintaining updates to the operating system.
    • Maintaining updates to the anti-virus software.
    • Updating 3rd party software, as needed.
    • Device encryption.
    • Outage and security incident response.
  • Hardware maintenance:
    • Setup of new workstations.
    • Hardware diagnostics.
    • Labor for the replacement of worn/damaged parts internal to a computer (cost of the parts are charged to the unit).
  • Installation of peripheral devices:
    • Printers not covered by the PrintSmart contract.
    • Keyboards and mice.
    • Desktop cameras for video conferencing.
    • Additional audio and video equipment.
  • Installation of approved software:
    • Pre-approved software from the UF FastPath portal.
    • Software titles that are not in the UF FastPath portal and have completed a UF IRM Risk Assessment.
  • Quotes for software and hardware purchases.

    • If an employee with administrative rights to their machine has breached the agreement of what is allowed to be done on the device, the machine was not setup by DCP IT, or the machine is self-managed by the employee, DCP IT can not guarantee support times to resolve issues.
