On March 31, the School of Architecture held it’s end of the year awards ceremony recognizing students, faculty and alumni.

Young Architects Design Award

William Olmstead Antozzi III, received the 2014 Young Architects Design Award. Antozzi is an architect/designer at Renzo Piano Building Workshop and has had the opoprtunity to work on projects around the world in France, Italy and New York City. His current projects include a 450,000 sq. ft. neuroscience research building and a 60,000 sq. ft. arts building, both now under construction as part of the new Columbia University’s Manhattanville Campus. In addition to his professional career, Antozzi also works in the field of social and global initiatives for community and environmental design.

Distinguished Service Award

Giovanni Traverso, senior lecturer at Vicenza Institute of Architecture, received the Distinguished Service Award. In 1996, Traverso co-founded the Traverso-Vighy Architetti studio, specializing in sustainable architecture and experimental projects related to the use of light. His major projects include the Salvagnini Technical Centre in Izumi-Japan, the Spidi Sport headquarters, the illumination of Piero della Francesca Frecoes in Arezzo, the new Palermo Airport commercial area and the Traverso Vighy Zero Energy Building.
