Employers seeking DCP students

Students graduating from the Rinker School of Construction Management have a history of finding jobs before graduating and this academic year is no exception. In fact, every student who graduated in December with a bachelor’s degree in construction management had at least one job offer and many had more than one.

This week, the school held its 32nd Career Fair, attracting more than 100 employers to the O’Connell Center. Employers travel from across the country to hire Rinker School students and graduates for internships and full-time positions. The Career Fair was a great way for the school to kick off its 80th anniversary.

In addition, two weeks ago, the College of Design, Construction and Planning held its second annual career fair for students graduating in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, urban and regional planning and sustainability and the built environment.
Employers attending the event were impressed with the quality of students and are interviewing several candidates for internships and positions with their firms. “It was nice to be back at my alma mater and to see how well the DCP students are representing UF,” said Cynthia Smith, Architectural Designer with Gensler. “We saw lots of impressive talent!”

Some of the firm representatives were hired at last year’s career fair, and this year, they were sitting on the other side of the table, recruiting for their firm.
