As part of the Envision Heritage initiative, the UF Historic Preservation Program conducted a two-day workshop on 3D laser scanning and imaging for heritage for the Myanmar Ministry of Culture (Department of Archaeology division). More than 20 staff members from across Myanmar traveled to the country’s first World Heritage site – Pyu Ancient Cities. The site was just inscripted during the World Heritage Committee meeting in summer 2014. The workshop was organized and sponsored by the World Monuments Fund with support from the U.S. State Department’s Ambassador Fund for Cultural Preservation.
