Meet DCP’s Newest Faculty Members

Huiquing Kuang, with the Department of Landscape Architecture, is one of our newest lecturers. She pursued a B.A. and Master’s in Architecture from South China University of Technology in 2005, furthering her education by receiving a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007.  Her current research interests are design thinking and fundamentals, planting design, sustainable landscapes and visual communication for landscape architecture.

 

Genesis Okken is a new lecturer in the Department of Interior Design. She is a long-time member of the DCP Gator family, receiving both her B.A. and Master’s in Interior Design at the University of Florida. Her research interests include design pedagogy and environmental color. Currently, she is teaching Computer Application for Three Dimensional Design (IND 2460C) and Advanced Architectural Interiors II (IND 4226).

 

 

Eileen Pesantes-Tavares is a lecturer in the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. She received her B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, continuing her education with an M.S. in Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering Mechanics from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management from Stanford University. Pesantes-Tavares is also a Gator alum, receiving her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Florida. Some classes she’s lectured for include Statics, Mechanics of Materials and Analysis of Structures.
