Walters recognized with UF Excellence Award for Assistant Professors

74b85baa-eda4-43e6-8Bradley Walters, SOA Assistant Professor, has been recognized with a UF Excellence Award for Assistant Professors. Walters was selected as one of ten recipients by members of the Award Selection Committee which are appointed annually from UF’s Distinguished Professors and Eminent Scholars. This award is focused on junior faculty and recognizes excellence in research. Each recipient will receive $5,000 to help fund their research including travel, equipment, books, graduate students and other research-related expenses.

Walters has been an Assistant Professor at UF since 2008 and teaches design studios, lectures on materials, advises graduate students and serves as an elected representative to the UF Faculty Senate. He is currently the principal investigator of the UF 2015 Solar Decathlon project and the Quinlivan Passivhaus research project. He was a co-principal investigator for the award-winning Project Re:Focus, a design-build project constructed for the 2010 Solar Decathlon Europe in Madrid, Spain. In 2011, Walters was named “Teacher of the Year” by DCP. He is also principal of Bradley Walters Architect.
